Italian Cookies

Ingredients

  • 6 Eggs
  • 1-1/4 cups Sugar
  • 1-1/8 cups Crisco
  • 6 cups Flour
  • 3 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 6 tsp Baking Powder

Directions

  1. Beat eggs and sugar for five minutes.
  2. Melt Crisco and let stand until a little cool
  3. Add to egg mixture
  4. Add vanilla
  5. Add flour, salt, baking powder gradually mixing well with a fork, then mix with hands until it forms a smooth ball
  6. Cover and let stand for 20 minutes
  7. Cut to desired size
  8. Grease cookie sheets once only with Crisco
  9. Bake until light brown
  10. Glaze with confectioner's sugar and lemon juice
